Beautiful stone 4 bedroom house bordered by the river See
set in the pretty Valley de la See, Brouains, Manche, Normandy

Reference: 1002.    Price: €180,000 Euros plus notaire's fees (approx 7%).

The house is located in the beautiful See Valley famous for having one hundred mills (many of which have now fallen into disrepair or have disappeared). The mills were powered by the River See and produced many things from paper to cutlery. There is a museum dedicated to the mills of the See which is located approximately three miles from the house in the museum at the Auberge De La See.

Le Moulin Du Rocher, produced paper in its mill and the house is believed to have been the Mill manager's house. The property is typical of the architecture in this part of Normandy and is believed to have been built circa1740 and in 1984 was renovated to a high degree.

Situated near to the town of Sourdeval this beautiful 4 bedroom stone house is set on a tranquil, rural plot of approx. 3.5 acres.

Garden/Land

Approximately 3.5 acres:
To the rear of the house there is a secluded, south facing garden surrounded in part by a beautiful stone wall. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with flower beds and shrubs. There is a patio which overlooks part of the river and has a built in bbq. At the end of the garden is a pretty wooden chalet.

One side of the property’s boundary is formed by the River See so has its own fishing rights and here, during the fishing season, trout and salmon can be caught without the need for a licence. There are apple trees and a walnut tree on the land and at the front of the house there is a hard surfaced parking area. The majority of the land has stock proof fencing should you wish to keep sheep etc.
